I grew up with warm weather.  I’m a sunshine girl and I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of cold weather.  Enter cashmere!  

This piece is called Rhea - named after the goddess of comfort.  I mean seriously, there's nothing more cozy and comfortable than a yummy cashmere scarf around the neck.  

Some years ago, I discovered a cashmere sweater at the Rose Bowl flea market in Los Angeles.  That’s all it took.  I wore it and loved it.  Ever since then, I’ve been dreaming of doing some sort of a cashmere collection.

So I took my color and sense of composition and have started to create a collection of usable art pieces.  They're inspired by my love of vintage quilts that my grandmother used to collect.  I have a vintage collection of quilts that were handed down to me and remind me cozy times with her.

These cashmere scarves are made of vintage cashmere and factory offcuts and are shrunk and dried before I assemble them together.  I use an intuitive, improvisational method and add touches of color with neon thread that is used to combine them all together.  

Like traditional quilts, the beauty is in the imperfections.  I send these off with a lavender sachet, 3 patches, and extra thread so that you can care for repair the pieces as they are warn and loved over the years.  

This variation has approx 47 separate pieces of cashmere, intuitively sewn together.  I’m calling this color pallet - fall confetti.  Each one is different and no two are alike.

I've ordered about 4 different automatic shakers from different brands. They all have different problems, motor not strong enough, charging cable on the front of the charging base (in the way on a counter), hard to open refil covers, small containers not holding enough salt/pepper. FINALLY this one checks all the marks I've been looking for. Its weighty too since its made of stainless. Large refil container, easy to remove just a twist. Grind selector is a twist at th e base with a clear arrow showing size. Large press button at top so you can hold it in any rotation in your hand and not have to look for the button/switch to turn it on. No cover that needs to be flipped open and then closed to put back into the base. Contacts for charge are on the back side and not at the bottom where salt can corrode the contacts. The list can go on but you get the idea. Just buy this one and be done with it!

Edit: Customer service actually did offer to replace it. Received the new set and it works fine. Nice set. Only gripe is I think that the motor could be a little stronger. Sounds like it’s struggling at times. Received a defective item reached out to customer support for Circle joy and they’re basically saying that it’s user error and not a defect in their product, even though I explained to them that the other one works fine. When adjusting the coarseness on one of the grinders, the grinder ends up loosening up, which ends up with you spilling the pepper corns everywhere. It’s a nice set if it worked right but for $40 I expect her device to be a little more polished.
