Leolia, Duchess of Westminster's memoirs of life as a Bright Young Thing. Leolia begins by writing about her childhood, describing with saddening detail the remoteness of her parents and the tyranny of her nannies. She came out at the end of the First World War and was launched into a round of debutante parties, balls and dances. As the roaring twenties took hold Loelia became one of the original bright young people. She details their exploits including the fancy dress parties, the night club visits and the treasure hunts. She also credits herself as the instigator of the infamous bottle parties; being short of funds she asked her friends to "bring a bottle" to a party she was organising. The fun of the 1920s clouds over when she marries Bendor Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster in 1930. At first charming he quickly becomes a tyrannical, jealous husband. Leolia is searingly honest about her relationship with Bendor and the memoirs end with their inevitable separation five years later. The whole is an absorbing and truthful contemporary account of the inter-War years.

Loelia Mary, Lady Lindsay of Dowhill, née Ponsonby (6 February 1902 – 1 November 1993), was a British peeress, needlewoman and magazine editor.

Family and first marriage
Lindsay was the only daughter of the courtier Sir Frederick Ponsonby, later 1st Baron Sysonby, and Victoria Lily (Kennard), Lady Sysonby, the well-known cookbook author. She spent her early years at St James's Palace, Park House at Sandringham, and Birkhall. One of the Bright Young People, she met the twice-divorced Hugh Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster. They were married on 20 February 1930 in a blaze of publicity, with Winston Churchill as the best man, but were unable to have children. Her marriage to the enormously wealthy peer failed, and was described by James Lees-Milne as "a definition of unadulterated hell". It was dissolved in 1947 after years of separation.

Life after divorce
After her divorce, Loelia, Duchess of Westminster, established herself as a skillful hostess at Send, Surrey, occupying herself with needlework and gardening, passions she had inherited from her mother. Her needlework collection was bequeathed to the National Trust. During the 1950s she worked as a feature editor for House & Garden magazine, and covered the wedding of Prince Rainier III of Monaco and Grace Kelly.

Lindsay is believed to have popularised the aphorism (falsely attributed to Margaret Thatcher): "Anybody seen in a bus over the age of 30 has been a failure in life", which appears to have been coined by poet Brian Howard.

Lindsay's second marriage, to the divorced explorer Sir Martin Lindsay, 1st Baronet, came as a surprise to her friends but was much more successful. The couple were married on 1 August 1969. Sir Martin, a devoted husband, died in 1981, and Lady Lindsay chose to spend her last years in nursing homes. Her memoirs, written in 1961 and titled Grace and Favour: The Memoirs of Loelia, Duchess of Westminster, are a significant record of aristocratic life between the First and Second World Wars.

Good sunscreen, but the shade didn’t work for me
Color: Medium
I bought the Colorescience Flex in Medium because I had seen great reviews and liked the idea of a tinted mineral sunscreen. The formula itself felt really high quality and it did provide good sun protection, but the shade didn’t end up working for my skin tone. ✔️ What I liked: - Great daily mineral sun protection. - Lightweight texture and easy to apply. - Didn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts. - Nice natural finish at first. ❌ What I didn’t like: - On my skin, the Medium shade looked orange. - The color didn’t blend well with my undertone. - I had to work it in quite a bit to avoid a noticeable line with my neck. I think the formula is really good, but the shade selection definitely requires care. In my case, it just wasn’t the right match

Finally found my perfect match!! In foundation!
Color: Medium, Color: Medium
I’ve used many high-end foundations over the years, but Colorescience has become my everyday favorite. It feels incredibly lightweight on the skin and provides a natural, healthy-looking finish that doesn’t feel heavy or cakey. The added SPF is a huge bonus and makes my morning routine so much easier. I also love how perfectly it matches my skin tone, it blends seamlessly and looks like my skin, just more even and polished. If you prefer a natural, lightweight foundation with the added benefit of sun protection, this one is definitely worth trying.

Worth the investment! It lasts!!
Color: Medium, Color: Medium
I have been using this religiously as my foundation for over a year! I love it. It works best for me when I use moistuzer, let it dry enough so you have a little slip. A LITTLE goes a long way and double check the bottle because even when it feels empty it’s not fully empty :) it’s not a full coverage approach to foundation I use an elf glo setting over it in winter . It’s light weight and the SPF was what I was looking for!

Expensive, but a good product!
Color: Fair
Love this product. Comes out of the tube white but changes color as you apply. I find you do need moisturizer on your face to get a smoother application - I tend to mix it with my moisturizer before applying and it works well. Am currently on my 3rd tube of the stuff. A bit pricey, but for my skin it sits better than most other products I've tried and doesn't make me break out or look shiny.

the perfect everyday tinted sunscreen! worth the $$
Color: Light, Color: Light
this product was highly recommended to me by my esthetician. I was hesitant to try it because of the price point, but once I learned I could use my HSA funds I immediately purchased! the product is not overly greasy or oily- it gives a beautiful glow. I would recommend setting with a setting spray or powder for longevity. the coverage is buildable, but won't be a fix-all for someone desiring full coverage- as an acne girly, I am satisfied with this product while paired with a few dabs of my concealer. it works well with other colorescience products AND with my other everyday makeup products which was a huge plus for me. it doesn't feel heavy on the skin either which was also a huge selling point for me as someone who needs coverage but hates the feeling of a full face. all in all, I think the product is absolutely worth the money regardless of it being HSA approved or not. I would recommend to anyone who loves wearing makeup but also is looking for something light and effortless. one note about the shade- I have fair olive skin but tan easily, so I got the shade "light" -but I might try the shade "fair" next time as this shade pulls slightly orange on me. the shade matching can be difficult, but I think that's to be expected with a color changing product.
