In the end, fourteen mandated territories were set up across the Middle East, Africa and the Pacific. Against all odds, these disparate and far-flung territories became the site and the vehicle of global transformation. In this masterful history of the mandates system, Susan Pedersen illuminates the role the League of Nations played in creating the modern world. Tracing the system from its creation in 1920 until its demise in 1939, Pedersen examines its workings from the realm of international diplomacy; the viewpoints of the League's experts and officials; and the arena of local struggles within the territories themselves. Featuring a cast of larger-than-life figures, including Lord Lugard, King Faisal, Chaim Weizmann and Ralph Bunche, the narrative sweeps across the globe-from windswept scrublands along the Orange River to famine-blighted hilltops in Rwanda to Damascus under French bombardment-but always returns to Switzerland and the sometimes vicious battles over ideas of civilization, independence, economic relations, and sovereignty in the Geneva headquarters. As Pedersen shows, although the architects and officials of the mandates system always sought to uphold imperial authority, colonial nationalists, German revisionists, African-American intellectuals and others were able to use the platform Geneva offered to challenge their claims. Amid this cacophony, imperial statesmen began exploring new means - client states, economic concessions - of securing Western hegemony. In the end, the mandate system helped to create the world in which we now live. Durable and Nice Color, But No Magnets
Color: Brown, Size: 72"W x 72"L (Pack of 1)
This shower curtain looks really nice and has held up well so far. The color is a rich chocolate brown, just like the picture, and it looks great in the bathroom. The color is accurate to the picture used in the listing.
Installation was very easy, and the holes for the curtain rings are reinforced, which makes it feel durable and well made. I like that it seems sturdy and not flimsy.
One thing to note is that the Amazon listing suggested magnets for durability, but this curtain does not have magnets. Since I use it as an outer decorative curtain with a plastic inner liner, that hasn’t really been an issue and mold hasn’t been a problem either.
I would definitely recommend using a plastic liner with it. Overall, it looks nice, installs easily, and seems durable.

Very nice curtain. Feels durable and I love the waffle texture look. I bought it to replace the kiddish one I had in there for staging purposes. Fits great, no odor when opened the packaging. Easy to hang and good value for money.

holds up, cleans well, looks good. what else do you want

I almost never write reviews, but for a random brand amazon product, this is high quality. I have a very tall shower so was struggling to find anything locally and ended up buying this. It looks nice, feels thick and sturdy but isn't super heavy so I don't have to worry about it pulling the tension rod down. It's opaque enough to not see through but lets enough light in. All that is kinda whatever, it's the functionality I was looking for but nothing to write home about. The thing is, my plastic inner curtain liner is way too short, maybe by like 6 inches. After a year of use, this left an area exposed to water, shower products etc. and it got pretty grimey. I was thinking I'd need to replace it but decided to try and bleach the bejeezus out of it and then let it sit in hot soapy dr bronners water. Now it's basically good as new. Idk if you could throw it in a washer, I personally wouldn't but this worked great. I respect a cheap product that does it's job, looks good, and cleans easily. You do need an inner liner though unless you're ready to bleach it frequently. Or you don't care about stains at all, that's your prerogative.
