Our Pioneer Tea celebrates the history of Sarasota.

John Greene Webb and his family came to Spanish Point in 1867, where they established a homestead on Little Sarasota Bay's shores.

They planted citrus, sugar cane, and vegetables and built a packing house to prepare their produce for market. 

All of us who enjoy living in beautiful Sarasota owe much to the hardship John and his family must have endured, and at Local Tea Company, we can think of no finer tribute than this amazing herbal tea.

Predominantly citrus, this Pioneer Tea contains orange and tangerine pieces, blackberry and eucalyptus leaves, lemongrass, beetroot and carrot flakes, apple pieces, and hibiscus flowers.

Pioneer Tea makes a stunning iced tea, though enjoy sipping this tea hot as well.

20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose-leaf tea. We also suggest steeping our Pioneer Tea multiple times for even more cups of great tea.

Brewing Instructions for Pioneer Tea

Steep this Pioneer Tea multiple times. Loose-leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to their superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision. Please experiment to determine your preferences.

Use boiling water and allow your tea to steep as little as 3 minutes or as much as 10 minutes. For each of the following steeps, use boiling water and double the steep time; if you do not want to drink all the tea, store it in the fridge for wonderful iced tea.

Store in a dry place.
