Throughout his illustrious career, master drummer and world music pioneer Gurtu has stood at the confluence of where Indian classical music, Western jazz and funk, African music, and Brazilian music meet. It's been part of his modus operandi for five decades - making music that defies easy categorization. On God Is A Drummer, his 20th recording as a leader, the uncommonly open-minded musician pays tribute to some fallen colleagues and role models who have guided and inspired him along the way. Leading his dynamic, Hamburg-based group of trumpeter Frederik Köster, trombonist Christophe Schweizer, Turkish-born keyboardist Sabri Tulug Tirpan, and electric bassist Jonathan Cuniado, Gurtu acknowledges the impact that legends like keyboardist and Weather Report co-founder Joe Zawinul, Brazilian percussionist Nana Vasconcelos, jazz drumming great Tony Williams, and his mother, the Indian classical singing star Shobha Gurtu, have made on his musical life. Dedicated to his own guru, Ranjit Maharaj, God Is A Drummer is a stunning showcase of matchless precision, dazzling solos, passionate vocals, percolating rhythms, and deep-rooted grooves. Regarding the title, the leader says, "I named it that because without the drummer, nothing will move. And without movement, the world will stop. The Earth rotates, which is movement. The waves in the ocean, the leaves falling from trees, people talking to each other?it's all movement, it's rhythm, it's energy. So, with every movement, I say, god is a drummer." Slimy! Taste okay, but strange texture

I really wanted to like these but they're really slimy! I've had Jack Links before but these are even more slimy. I normally get chomps or archer beef sticks. I would say these have the texture of the archer beef stick just a bit more slimy. Not my favorite.

Gross Texture - Weirdly Soft

These are literally the nastiest possible version of a meat stick I've ever had.
Bought them for the price and for lunches to take to work. As it would turn out, I couldn't give them away to family. Everyone who bravely tried it were met with the same gross, weirdly soft, texture. No matter if it was refrigerated or room temp - it was eerily soft I felt like I was eating baby food. The flavor was... Fine? I guess. It didn't wow me either way, just kinda existed. They are also pretty small, I expected more than 4in per item for the price. I thought the price was good when I thought they were bigger, but when I discovered they were smaller, the price became less worth it.
Overall, I'm not sure who the target audience for these it because adults and kids alike did not like them or their weird texture.

I’d rather reviews on these before purchasing them and I didn’t think I was gonna like it. I seen a lot of bad reviews lotta negativity, but I was impressed. They’re actually good a little greasy not too much. They were not mushy at all. Remind me of a slim gym, but not that greasy. I normally eat a different brand, but I really like this and I will buy it again. I recommend it. I wasn’t going to try it because a lot of the reviews weren’t too good that I was reading but they’re good. I like them, but I’m glad I tried it and they are zero sugar.
