FrSky Archer Plus R6L & SR6L Receivers

The FrSky Archer Plus R6L and SR6L receivers exist because apparently RC pilots weren’t suffering enough trying to decode ACCESS, ACCST D16, SBUS, FBUS, OTA updates, telemetry sensors, stabilisation modes, and whatever acronym FrSky invented during lunch. These compact 2.4GHz receivers pack full-range telemetry, 6 PWM outputs, SBUS support, and smart protocol matching into a lightweight package built for gliders, fixed-wing aircraft, FPV builds, and anyone brave enough to open the ETHOS menu without emotional support. The SR6L adds integrated 3-axis gyro stabilisation and variometer telemetry, because manually saving your aircraft from bad thumbs was getting old. We’ve spent over 10 years building commercial FPV systems and honestly, reliable RF links still matter more than whatever cinematic soundtrack your flight edit uses.

Key Highlights

  • ACCESS & ACCST D16 Compatibility: Smart-matched protocol support works with compatible FrSky 2.4GHz transmitters without forcing you into firmware archaeology.
  • Full Telemetry & FBUS Support: Supports S.Port, FBUS, SBUS output, OTA firmware updates, telemetry sensors, and up to 24 channel output modes.
  • SR6L Stabilisation: Built-in 3-axis gyro and accelerometer with auto-level, stabilisation, knife-edge, and hover modes for pilots who occasionally confuse “landing” with “impact testing.”

Why You Want It

The Archer Plus series fixes one of the biggest RC headaches: tiny receivers that somehow still manage to create giant setup drama. Both the R6L and SR6L feature enhanced anti-RF interference performance, low weight, compact dimensions, and full telemetry support for modern ACCESS and ACCST D16 systems. The R6L keeps things lightweight and straightforward for pilots who just want dependable PWM and SBUS functionality without extra wizardry. Meanwhile, the SR6L adds stabilisation and integrated altitude/vertical speed telemetry for glider pilots, FPV fixed-wing builds, or anyone who enjoys pretending turbulence is a “feature.” The FBUS ecosystem also simplifies wiring for compatible servos and telemetry devices, which means slightly less cable spaghetti inside your airframe. Slightly.

FAQ

What’s the difference between the R6L and SR6L?

The SR6L includes built-in stabilisation functions, a 3-axis gyro, accelerometer, and variometer telemetry. The R6L focuses on lightweight full-range receiver functionality without stabilisation.

Do these receivers support both ACCESS and ACCST D16?

Yes. The Archer Plus series smart-matches ACCESS and ACCST D16 modes during binding with compatible FrSky transmitters.

Can I use FBUS with these receivers?

Yes. FBUS support allows simplified wiring and configuration for compatible telemetry devices and servos through ETHOS-compatible systems.

Are these good for gliders and fixed-wing aircraft?

Absolutely. The lightweight design, full telemetry support, stabilisation options, and long-range RF performance make them especially popular for gliders and fixed-wing builds.

Does the SR6L help with stabilised flight?

Yes. The SR6L includes multiple stabilisation modes including auto-level and stabilised flight modes that can help smooth out aircraft handling and recovery.

What’s in the Box*

  • 1× FrSky Archer Plus R6L or SR6L Receiver
  • 1× Connector Adapter Cable

Disclaimer

Features may vary depending on your transmitter firmware, because RC protocols apparently evolve through chaos instead of communication.

Still Here?

If you’ve survived reading about ACCESS, ACCST, SBUS, S.Port, and FBUS without developing a stress twitch, congratulations: you’re officially an RC pilot. Grab an Archer Plus receiver and spend less time troubleshooting protocols and more time pretending your landing was intentional.

Great for 22 pound mini schnauzer/mini greyhound mix
Color: Pink
I have a dog that is half miniature schnauzer and they love to sniff and snuffle. He is enjoying this ball. I put the little freeze dried liver cubes in it and he will play with it until he gets them all out, and maybe keep playing for a bit. I can't give it 5 stars because I don't know quite how I'm going to clean the inside of it. I can't speak for how well it cleans his teeth because he hasn't had it that long. It is sturdy. He's a 22 pound medium size dog and I'm confident he cannot chew it to the point of destroying it. He's barely made a scratch on it so it may break down over time but it's not something a small or medium dog should be able to chew through the first day. He's had it about 2 weeks and we use it every day and it's holding up very well. It's not interesting enough to him to play with it without treats in it but he rarely plays with a toy unless I'm actively playing with the other end of the toy or throwing it for him to chase (part Italian greyhound too so he does like chasing) but he will get excited when he sees this ball as he knows treats are going to be in it. This one is a good size for him and he can pick it up with his teeth. (This is the hot pink one with the blue ball inside) Definitely worth the price if I can figure out how to sufficiently clean inside of it. So far rinsing with warm water seems to keep it hygienic. It's silicone so everything pretty much slides out. I wouldn't put any moist treats in it though. It's quiet. No squeaker, but he has plenty of toys that squeak and we didn't get it for that. It definitely appeals to his sniffing and snuffling instincts.

Quality product
Color: Blue
Great toy but the holes are very large for the snacks so they fall out easily. I have a toy poodle and it was to large for her, it seems like it is made of good quality materials and would be great for chewers .

No match for 3 month old puppy!
Color: Blue
I was really hopeful this would last a while, but 5 minutes out of the box and my 3 month old puppy has chewed two chunks out of the blue part already - seems this is too soft for puppy teeth, and it specifically claims to be good for puppy teething. 5 minutes of play is not worth paying for. Maybe if the material had been more substantial, this could have been great for high activity level puppies. My pup had no trouble carrying it around, so it wasn't too heavy, and it was easy to play fetch with as well. For reference, my pup is a mixed breed - labrador, poodle, newfoundland.
