No experience needed. This two-session workshop includes all materials and silver needed to create 1 sterling silver signet ring you will take home at the end of our second class session. Class is $225 total. A non-refundable $100 deposit is due at booking, the remaining $125 will be due the day of your workshop.

Up to 16 grams of silver will be included in the class price. If your silver ring weighs more than 16 grams, you will be charged for the weight difference in the market price of silver that day. Workshop will take place at our brick and mortar location, 433 East 1st Street, Long Beach, CA.

Session 1 - Wax Carving 6pm-8pm
Students will choose a signet ring design to create (rectangle, circle, or oval) and will carve their ring model out of jeweler’s wax by using hand files, saws, and sand paper.*

Session 2- Filing Metal & Polishing 6pm-7pm
Your ring model will be cast in sterling silver for you prior to session 2. We will meet for final filing, sanding, and polishing of your ring.

If you are unable to make it to the second session, your ring will be finished for you and you will be able to pick it up at your convenience. There are no make up days.

*This workshop does not include participation in casting metal. Your carved wax model will be cast into silver for you by our team outside of workshop hours. Engraving wax is not offered or included.

Great Book.
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.

Format: Paperback
Excellent articulation of the Black Power initiative within the Civil Rights Movement. A detailed view of Black Power, it's objectives, how these would be achieved, as well as it's misinterpretations. An afterword from each author appended in 1992 provides insight, reflection, and perspective on all that's changed, and what hasn't, since the book's publishing.

Get one while you can
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Any book with the name Stokely Carmichael is a rare find. You can easily find the same book with Kwame Ture as the author since he changed his name and so later editions reflects the name change. Kwame Ture (fka Stokely Carmichael) changed his name for a reason. However, those of us from the sixties can never forget him nor the name Stokely Carmichael.
