Classic red grapefruit flavor, sweeter than most grapefruits, with bright colored flesh and a light pink blush on the skin. Ripens in winter and holds on the tree into summer, needs heat to sweeten the fruit. Grow your own grapefruit juice, also a great addition to salads.
Relatively new variety, introduced in 1984 from the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. More cold tolerant than other grapefruits, but performs best in warm climates. Attractive tree produces an abundance of fruit.
